Well today is Monday, and I didn't get a post out for yesterday. So I will give an update for that first. We checked out the various church listings and choose one that had a 8:00 a.m. service, a 9:30 service and an 11:00 o'clock service. Alf figured with a schedule like that the service wouldn't be over an hour long. We went to the 8:00 a.m. service which was advertised as a dockside service. But when when we looked online we found out it was from May to September, the rest of the year it is a casual service held in the sanctuary.

Beymer United Methodist looks like it might be a good fit, we enjoyed the service, and the preaching was quite interesting. He was just starting a four week series on Jonah. So we timed it right. We might try the 9:30 service sometime which is their contemporary service, (especially if I am slow in getting going that particular morning.) Alf says if that happens we won't go, he likes to get church over with early.

After worship we went to a flea market which is just about 2 miles from us. They had vendors selling veggies and fruit. Much better prices and selection than the grocery stores. And amazingly enough we ran into a couple from our park back home in Prince Edward County. Small world here in Florida!

I thought I would tell you a bit about the species "Snowbird". There are many varieties of this species: Ontario, New Brunswick, Maine, Michigan etc. They all seem to get along well with each other. Yesterday we met a lot of them at the local waterhole, (the pool). They seem to like to hang out in the water all afternoon, talking back and forth. We stayed for about 45 minutes, but when we went by an hour later, many of them were still there. It helps when the water is warm and the day is sunny.

Today, it is cloudy, but still warm, around 77. I got up this morning and started the bread machine. The smell of yeast and rising bread filled the trailer and by noon we had a lovely whole wheat loaf of bread. (Two pound size, which is a bit big, next time I better make a smaller loaf) I used flour I bought from home, but eventually I will have to buy flour and I understand that the flour in the States is not as good as ours. The book recommends using bread flour. And that is what others have told me as well.

Well, today we are just taking it pretty easy, cleaning out under the trailer, putting up our flags. Alf did laundry. I have started work on a Christmas lap quilt. I like to work on it while Alf is watching TV. I listen to the TV, looking up now and then. If I don't keep busy doing something, I tend to fall asleep watching just watching TV. Well got to run, time to take a walk to Walmart, for a few supplies.
