Making Room For Retirement

Well this morning it was cloudy and damp.  Rained for 20 minutes or so, and then started to clear.  It is cooler though.  Maybe 70 - 72 degrees.  Need to get a thermometer so we can give you accurate updates.  Alf is wearing jeans, so it must a bit cooler. 

Last night I was working on my Christmas quilt.  I have put a pic up to show you what my sewing room looks like.  Very compact but it works.  I read a funny little story about quilting by a man, how quilting means you take big pieces of fabric, cut them up into small pieces and then sew them back together into a big piece.  And you know, that is exactly what you do.  Go figure!

And when I am done it all fits away, and we have our table for dining and computer back. 

We have been waiting for the Larry the Cable Guy from Bright House, all morning.  He was supposed to come between 10 and noon, but so far no show.  So I think we are giving up and going for a walk. 

Later we need to make our way to Bealls.  It is 55+ day which means an extra 15 percent off.  Going to see if we can find a bargain or two.  

Oh and our neighbour kept telling us that there was a gator in the pond beside Walmart, a big one, maybe ten feet long.  Well yesterday we saw him, he had been sunning himself along the brick wall and was making his way back to the slimy green pond.  He must have been all 4 - 5 feet long, although Alf thinks he was 10 feet long.   Of course I didn't have my camera with me.  Gotta start carrying it with me all the time.  Oh, and the pond is fully enclosed by a chain link fence and solid cement wall. 

Well time for the walk and I am taking the camera!
