Making Room For Retirement

Well another snowbird day has come and gone, and starting on a new one.  Alf is out washing the truck so I thought I would update our blog.  

Yesterday was cool and cloudy most of the day, had to wear jeans and a long sleeved shirt.  Today it's sunny and will be warmer.  It is already warmer than yesterday. 

We have figured the camera thing out, but now we have to remember to take the pics! 
We should have taken a pic of the buffet we ate at yesterday.  We were looking for a place to eat on our way to Joann's Fabrics, (one needs sustenance when one goes to the fabric store) and we spied Fred's Southern Plantation.  I had seen a big billboard sign for this a day or two earlier so why not try it.  
Glad we did, great buffet with fried chicken, bbq chicken, bbq beef, collard greens, yams, turnip, summer squash medley, fish, potatoes-mashed and scallopped, grits (probably won't eat these again) rice, biscuits, cornbread, soup, and a lot more, a salad bar, a dessert bar (yummy!) and all this for $8 if you are 55+.  I think we will make a weekly stop at this place.  

Once we were full, and I mean full!  We went to Joanns.  I needed some fabric for a quilt I want to make.  So Alf followed me around the store, holding all the bolts I had collected, and he even helped look for fabrics.  He is a pretty good little Alf (Elf!)  Anyway, once I had made all my selections  we went to the cutting table where I piled up all my bolts, had a good chuckle with the woman cutting - especially when she was cutting the frog fabric I had found, and I told her I had to kiss a few frogs before I found my prince.  

Had to butter Alf up after making him endure the fabric store!  
 
Then we made our way to the check-out, where I used a 50% off coupon on one cut of fabric, and 40% off coupon on another and a coupon that saved me $10 on a order over $35.  Gotta love couponing in the States.  






Today we are off to a yard sale in a mobile home park just up the way, and then to Beall's where they have 30% off on their clearance items.and I received a $10 off coupon on a purchase over $25.  Wanna see how much good stuff I can get for $25 which will only cost me $15.  Stay tuned for the update.
