Yesterday was a fun day, and busy too.  At 1:00 p.m. we decided to go and join those Bocce Birds and see if they would let us play with them.  No problem, we were warmly welcomed although my team may have wondered when my first two balls rolled off the court.  I have always played bocce ball on the grass, the bumpier the better.  Here you play on a carpeted court with rails, and rules, no less.  But I discovered that it is a lot like curling and you try and curl the ball into place.  So my next turn, I was able to put down a couple of good shots and I made some more, and by golly our team won.

Now Alf, he was on the green team and he struggled a bit, but he made a pretty good bocce bird as well.

We had heard about a street dance with 50's/60's music that went on every Wednesday evening up in the Kissimmee/Orlando area, in a place called Old Town.  We set off to see what this was all about.  As we were trying to find the place we discovered Historic Kissimmee.  We went into an antique/curio shop to ask directions and found out we were 12 miles away from where we wanted to be, but we will go back to this place, this store in itself could take a whole afternoon to walk through, and the rest of the area was very interesting as well.  (now that is if we can find it again!)

Anyway we got back in "Dumpy" (our truck's name cause it sounds like a dump truck) and found the place.  We have seen this amusement park before when we were in Kissimmee, but never stopped in.  There is no charge to get in, if you want to go on the rides, you buy tickets just like at a fair.  There are restaurants and all kinds of tourist trap shops, but it is a neat atmosphere.  We joined a few friends from the park for dinner at Flippers Pizzeria and then went to the main stage area, where we had left our lawn chairs.  There was also a car show, so Alf strolled around looking at the cars, mostly Mustangs and some other older models.  The music was great - two guys singing to tracks, and everybody was up dancing in the streets - and at 7:30 they did the "Stroll" - a line dance kind of thing that I remember seeing on Dick Clark's American Bandstand.  This dance was beyond Alf's abilities so when it was over he said he wasn't doing it the second time.  He said he stepped on a woman's foot when he zigged left instead of right.

So we found out that there are lots of "Dancing" birds in Florida as well.  We will go back, definitely, because not only was it fun, but there was a great big, big Joann's Fabric just a couple of blocks away.  Gotta get some more coupons!
Sorry no pics, we forgot the camera, once again.

Alf needs to carry his camera from Canada, we just downloaded all the pics that were on it from the last two years and you should see some of the shots from the Hyatt camping outings.

What's that you say - you want to see them okay here is a sample!  Here's a whole mess of Hyatt's all trying to be the chief cook and one of my brother's, not sure what he is doing, but it looks like he is trying to put it out!

and here is my sister-in-law Lori holding her giant coffee mug.  It lasts her all day!

Anyway, that is my laugh for the day.

Enjoy yours.

    1. Yep, but we have to use Alf's Canadian phone, cause our American one is just a basic one, not a smart phone.
