It is Wednesday evening, and Alf is over doing the laundry.  That is his chore, and he does a good job.  I see I haven't posted since Sunday, and there are probably all kinds of people just waiting to hear what we have been up to.

So let's see if I can remember.
We will start with recent history and hopefully as I start to type the past will become clear.

Today we went to look at a mobile home park not too far from here.  What a lovely place, not too big - only 77 homes, a small pool, (they don't heat it, so you would have to be pretty brave to take a dip), a nice club house and shuffleboard courts.  It is on a small lake with its own dock and some people go out fishing.  Not too sure it would yield many fish but there were some pics in the clubhouse of people catches and they looked like a pretty good size.   The lot rent was also more reasonable than many parks.  We also looked at some of the homes for sale, amazing what size of home you can get really reasonably.  For way less than we paid for our home in Bay Meadows in Consecon,  you can get a place that has a huge master bedroom with ensuite and dressing area and large walk-in closet, large second bedroom with access to main bathroom, laundry room, family room, large living room and dining room, good sized kitchen and a screened porch and a monster car port, room for our boat!  (hahaha) Alf's buddy Tom will have to bring the boat - are you listening Tom!

We have been in Florida for over 3 weeks now, and we realize that if we are going to make it a yearly thing, something a bit bigger than our 27 ft fifth wheel would be nice.  So it is either buy a bigger 5th wheel, or a mobile home.

This afternoon we went golfing, we pushed our carts over to the golf course (it is that close to us) and did nine holes, then walked back - a good work out.

Alf is now back from doing the laundry, and I had to take a break while I put the clothes away.  Thanks hun, for doing the laundry.  He is watching Wheel of Fortune while I type this up.

Yesterday, our neighbours, Dave and Janie were going to Camping World  and asked if we wanted to go.  We had a good time going through all the fifth wheels and dreaming about what the perfect rig would look like.

Then in the afternoon we went out shopping again, Beall's Department Store, seniors day! plus an extra 50% off their clearance items, another good sale, and you gotta hear this - for $22 I got a golf shirt, a pair of capris, a tank top and 2 pairs of  swimtrunks for the grandkids.  According to the receipt I saved $166.43

Of course, I always have to keep in mind that  if I buy something I don't need, I am really not saving.  But I needed some clothes, one always needs new clothes!  Now I need a bigger place to keep my clothes!

On Monday, it was brrrr.  The sun never came out, and it never warmed up.  We went to visit another mobile home park, and a RV place, and stopped in at the Beall's Outlet - seniors day - an extra 15% off.  Then we came home and stayed cozy inside our little place.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day, and we are going out for a turkey dinner with other folks from the park.  The Canadian Snowbirds get to have two Thanksgiving Dinners.  (Hmmmm, snowbirds eating poultry, that just doesn't sound right - I guess we are birds of a different feather)

Then it will be Black Friday, the stores are opening at 10 p.m. tomorrow night, at least Walmart is, but I can say for sure that we are not going to stand in line with hundreds of people just to get in.  And last year, I believe one woman was trampled to death in the crush at a Walmart store.  That is insane.  Alf and I might walk over later on Friday afternoon to see what goes on, hopefully the stores won't be too busy then.  For you TV fanantics, you can buy a 52" true HD for $288 (if you want to brave the lineups and crowds.)

Well, now that you are caught up on the antics of two rookie snowbirds, it is time to say good bye.

Stay tuned for more!
