Remembrance Day: We will remember them!
Well, it is Sunday evening and it time to check in again with all my friends.
In my last posting I mentioned finding the car of my dreams and said I would post a pic, so here it is!
Don't you think it is so me! And we are the same vintage. And it only cost $23,000. (probably an even trade for Alf's Mustang) If it was easier to get in and out of, it would be sold! You have to fold yourself in and out, and the door opens the other way to make it even harder.
Yesterday, there was a pot-luck dinner at the park, lots of yummy food and good company.
Today was another beautiful day. Went to church, and the pastor remembered us being there from the week before, asked us our names. Such a friendly congregation, and welcoming. The service was about 50 minutes long, which Alf entirely approved of. When we left the sanctuary and came outside just before 9:00 am. it was a beautiful warm day, with the sun shining and a gentle breeze. We both remarked what a grand day it was.
Then on our way home we went to Joanne's fabrics. Once again, you gotta love the deals. I am working on a Christmas quilt for our home so I needed to buy some backing fabric. For any one who quilts I got a queen sized Warm and Natural quilt batt for $19. I also bought some outdoor canvas, (half price) I am going to make a Christmas banner to hang outside. And I had a 60% off coupon for one regular priced item, so I bought myself a 2 sided Cut n Press board. I had been eying them at home but didn't buy. I got it for $11, they cost $35 at home. And now I won't have to set up the ironing board when I am piecing my quilts.
This afternoon we went for a walk, and then came home and played a game of dominoes.
Too bad the days are so short, it is dark before you know it, I think Florida should find a way of making the days longer, but they will continue to get shorter until December 22.
Oh I forgot to tell you, we went golfing on Saturday, and Alf won the game, but I had him worried for a while. We are going golfing again tomorrow with a couple here in the park. Supposed to be sunny and 82. Sounds like another glorious day!
Hey Mary,
ReplyDeleteNice car. It's in Lori's favorite colour.
Keep on enjoying your time down south.
