Three posts in three days - this must be a record!

But I thought I would show some pics of what has kept us so busy for the last couple of weeks.  Time for the big reveal - are you ready?  Here goes

This is our living room

before

                                                     and after.
The previous owner most of the furniture.  We found the sofa bed, wicker chair, and coffee/end tables at Habitat for Humanity - they were having a half price sale.  I then found the fabric for the drapes and cushion covers at Jo-anns, once again half price and I had a 20 percent off coupon on top.  The fabric set the colour scheme for the house.
New carpet as well.    The little black table and chair we got at a local little shop that sells wonderful things at reasonable prices.

The lamps Alf found at the Salvation Army Thrift Shop.  $10 for the pair of bird house lamps.

This is the kitchen

the wallpaper had to go!
And go it went.

After:
Alf had the idea of putting up paintable beadboard wallpaper for the back splash

The table and chairs we got at a yard sale, last Saturday.

I thought I was going to have to paint the cupboards but they washed up really well, so they stay as is.

The guest room,
before - it doesn't show up real well but that was pink wallpaper in the window alcove and one wall.  And lace curtains.

and after

The walls are painted an icy blue, found the quilt at Big Lots.
We are already for our guests.

And new carpet - remember that pic of the 'cushy' carpet from an earlier post - it is gone!

The desk was moved to the lanai, the top part removed and now serves as my sewing desk.  The wood filing cabinets serve as end tables.  The office cart turned into a microwave cart in the kitchen.

Couldn't decide what to do with the closet doors so we left them as is for now.

The master bedroom

before

and after
We haven't changed much in here yet, just new bedding and moved the bed to the other wall away from the window.  And yes that is an old quilt on the bed above, we kept it, but it is in rough shape in places, but it a wonderful old quilt.
The other living room lamp is here until we take down the Christmas tree in the living room.
This room is just about the same as the guest room, a bit bigger and it has its own 3 piece bath.

Hope you like our new little home, we are really happy with how it turned out, and can't wait to show it off to any family and friends that come to visit.

Merry Christmas everyone!
